With a focus on serving Austin's Title I schools, Austin Partners in Education delivers innovative academic and mentoring programs designed to improve student academic and self-confidence. By placing more adults in the classroom, providing high engagement learning activities, and expanding opportunities for students to work collaboratively in small groups. APIE reinforces the district’s mission to keep students in school and have them graduate college and career ready.
The Austin community and classrooms work together to ensure academic excellence and personal success for all students.

Community volunteers add to the quality and capacity of campus programs, providing a vital extension of academic, social and emotional supports to students.
Program History:
Austin Partners in Education works with more than 275 city and state agencies, businesses, and organizations each year to support more than 3,500 students. APIE was founded more than 20 years ago by the Austin ISD and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce and is a 501 (c ) 3 non-profit.

Math Classroom Coaching
Mentoring
Additional Information:
Classroom Coaching transforms whole class instruction (with student to teacher ratios of 25:1 or higher) to small interactive learning teams with one adult volunteer matched to four or fewer students (4:1).
Trained volunteers work with the same groups of students for 45 minutes, once weekly, throughout the school year. Students are supported with high engagement learning activities in middle school math that provide opportunities for practice and feedback. Classroom Coaching is offered in:
· 6th & 8th Grade Math (English)

· High frequency tutoring in math or reading (3-5 times a week)
· Individualized, focused small group learning
