Discover How You Can Make a Difference
The Volunteer Program at Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose offers a unique opportunity to participate in and support the Museum's creative and educational exhibits and programs. With the variety of volunteer needs at the Museum, you can: work with children and/or adults, work in the public eye or behind the scenes, or work special events that serve our community while sharing your skills and learning new ones.
Earn Your Community Hours
Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age or entering their sophomore year of high school. Fulfill your community service hours while volunteering at the Museum. We require a minimum commitment of 50 hours to help you to meet your goals. While earning service hours, volunteers learn new skills, gain valuable experience, give back to their community and have fun.
Educational Programs Volunteer
Working alongside staff educators, Museum volunteers support all aspects of the visitor experience. This includes leading special activities, working inside the Museum’s exhibit areas, facilitating art experiences on the Museum floor, as well as lending a helping hand in the Museum’s Art Loft and Wonder Cabinet. Volunteering at Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose is an excellent way to gain experience in the museum and education fields. We are currently looking for individuals that can volunteer during the summer months. We are open seven days a week and have two volunteer shifts per day. Schedules are very flexible and are created based on your availability.
Attend a Volunteer Orientation
All CDM volunteers must first attend a volunteer orientation. For more information please feel free to visit our website: www.cdm.org
We look forward serving with you!
