Clean the World Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that collects soap and shampoo products discarded by hotels every day, and recycles and repackages them into quality sanitary products. The recycled soap and shampoo is then distributed to areas of the world that really need them.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
In fact, 3.5 million children under the age of 5 will die this year from illnesses that could be prevented by the use of soap. The two most deadly diseases for children - acute respiratory infection (pneumonia) and diarrheal disease - can be greatly reduced (up to 62%) by hand washing with bar soap.
Clean the World has a two-part mission:
1. Save Lives-Prevent the millions of deaths caused by hygiene-related illnesses every year.
2. Save the planet- Reduce the waste created by discarded soap and shampoo products. More than 425 tons (850,000 lbs.) of soap, shampoo are not being dumped in the landfills.
