The mission of the Deer Valley Rock Art Center is to preserve and provide public access to the Hedgpeth Hills Petroglyph Site, to interpret the cultural expressions found here and to be a center for rock art studies. Three points central to our mission are:
* Preservation: Protecting the Hedgpeth Hills Petroglyph Site is the center’s first priority.
* Connection: Continuing the use of this site links our lives today to the people who have been here before.
* Respect: Recognizing different interpretations of the site is fundamental. There are varying explanations for this place and
many ways to appreciate it.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Volunteers receive orientation and training from ASU anthropologists and experienced volunteers. Special programs such as field trips, workshops, and lectures add to the volunteer experience. As members of the Center, volunteers also receive a discount in our gift shop. Volunteering at the Deer Valley Rock Art Center is a great way to meet new people, share your talents, and engage your community in the preservation of our past. Join our motivated team of volunteers and take pride in being part of a vibrant organization!
