Mission Statement:
The mission of The Douglas Center's day program is to provide
work program, Developmental Rehabilitation, Vocational skills
Training and a Seniors Program to adults with Developmental
Disabilities and Mental health issues, and to enhance and enrich
the quality of life and help achieve independence in life.
Program History:
The Douglas Center's day program was started in March 1999.
The day program offers a wide variety of services to our clients
which includes a sheltered workshop, janitorial skills training
program, and developmental skills program for clients with
severe/profound developmentally disabilities. The DC day
program concentrates specifically on assisting each individual in
the management of his/her disabilities and building self esteem.
The DC day program also helps in developing, and/or improving
existing social skills, and independent living skill.
