Philosophy/Belief Statement:
GHK accomplishes it's mission by making nutrition education memorable and fun through hands-on cooking activities, stories, puppet shows, indoor gardening, and fun physical activities in preschool classrooms. Parent outreach is also a critical component of the GHK program.
Program History:
GHK began in 2006 with 20 preschools. During the 2009-2010 school year, 54 preschools serving low-income families, over 180 classrooms, and 300 teachers participated in the program, helping impact the lives of 2,400 children and families. Thanks to our wonderful volunteers for making this expansion possible, with the hopes to expand more each school year.

· Volunteer your time for just 1-2 hours, one morning a month, from October—April.
· You will visit the same preschool and same students on the same day each month.
¨ Example: You visit Selby preschool from 9-10:30 am the third Thursday of each month.
· You will get to spend a half hour in each classroom reading, cooking or doing other hands-on activities with the children.
· Children are ages 3-5 and most come from low-income families.
· The students are a lot of fun to be with and love having special visitors come to their class!
