Mission Statement:
Caring for the Masonic family and others, guided by the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth.
Program History:
North Ridge was founded by Charles P. Thompson and Dr. James J. Pattee. Under their direction and foresight, North Ridge Care community, (the nuring home has 495 beds) serving the needs of the elderly. This commitment to seniors was passed on to the second generation of owners - Charles Thompson and Mindy Pattee. In March, 1999, Minnesota Masonic Home purchased North Ridge Care Center. This is an exciting aquisition, since both organizations are leaders in providing quality care to senior citizens.

Below are some Volunteer Opportunites available at North Ridge Care Center. Please let the Volunteer Coordinator know if you are interested in any of the following:
CareBreak Greeter:
Assist with greeting and directing clients to appropriate rooms when they come in the mornings. Times would be M-F from 9-10am. Pick of days is flexible!
CareBreak Volunteer:
Assist in the adult day program with various activites such as nailcare, visiting, craft time, outings, etc. Monday through Friday day hours until 5pm. Schedules and activities are flexible.
Church Pianist:
Enhance the spiritual worship experience of seniors. Pianists are needed to play basic old hymns. Music is a very important part of the spiritual life of our elderly residents.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, & Sunday mornings
Escort for Physical Therapy:
Escort residents to and from physical therapy appointments in our on-site clinic. Assist with a variety of tasks as needed by the staff in this fast paced department. Orientation provided by Volunteer Coordinator.
9:00-12:00 every other Tuesday, or 9-12 Wednesdays through Sundays. Pick one of these days.
Escort/Worship Service:
Assist Activity Staff in bringing residents to and from on-site worship services on Sunday 8:30 - 10:30am. Could do every week, or 1 time a month, whatever fits into your schedule.
Library Cart Assistant:
Assist by bringing residents library books weekly or monthly. Keep records of books, take orders for specific books and more. Orientation and training done with the Volunteer Coordinator.
Nail Care:
Assist the activity staff with simple resident nailcare. You will not be trimming nails. This is a good opportunity to visit with residents while you provide a pampering experience for them. Monday afternoons, both Wednesday and Thursday morning and afternoon. Come 1x a week, or 1x a month, whatever fits into your schedule
Shopping Assist:
Assist activity staff on an outing to a local store. You will ride on our vans and then escort a resident around the store, helping them with any purchases.
Beauty Shop Escort:
Escort residents to and from their appointments in our on-site beauty shops. Assist in the shop by, folding towels, sweeping floor and visiting residents. Orientation and facility tour provided.
Weekdays 9:00-3:00. Flexible schedules and days available.
Bingo Assistant:
Escort residents to and from the game, assist the staff with set up and clean up. Help residents play bingo. Available times are: Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30pm, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2:30-3:30pm and Saturday mornings from 8-9am.
