Mission Statement:
PYC creates strong communities by generating deep learning experiences designed to keep youth safe, successfully dealing with life situations and allowing them to grow into productive adults.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
Progressive Youth Connection implements prevention programs to help children develop the skills to make positive choices in life, while striving to promote a violence-free school environment to ensure academic and social success for children of all ages.
Additional Information:
The Monroe After-School Program provides up to 50 children who attend Monroe Elementary School with constructive after-school hour activities. The activities focus on building educational and life skills, as well as violence-prevention. The program consists of a healthy snack, homework assistance, games, arts/crafts, and a prevention activity. Volunteers will have the opportunity to mentor the students who attend, assist youth with their homework, lead educational activities, and/or assist the lead coordinator in planning weekly activities.
