Rising Tide Capital is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization based in Jersey City, transforming lives and communities through entrepreneurship. We achieve this primarily through education, training, technical assistance, providing access to capital & access to markets.

Starting and running a business can be very intimidating and confusing. Our clients are hardworking and very good at what they do, but do not have access to the information and resources that would allow them to grow and become more profitable.

While important resources on the internet and at the numerous Small Business Development Centers exist, Rising Tide Capital believes that there is a segment of the entrepreneurial market that is still not being served.

Rising Tide Capital provides business-development services designed to:

Transform individual lives by helping individuals create a viable means of economic self-sufficiency and a tangible sense of hope for the future.

Strengthen families by empowering parents to better provide for their children and reducing the emotional strain caused by the lack of means for income generation.

Create thriving, vibrant communities by encouraging entrepreneurs to become local business leaders, who build the community from within by offering employment opportunities and concrete examples of success through hard work for the next generation.

Rising Tide Capital has come a long way since its founding in 2004. The organization started out as a grassroots effort working with just 10 entrepreneurs over their kitchen tables and at local cafes.

It has now worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs helping to start local businesses that generate income for their owners and have a positive impact on the wider economy. What's more, it has inspired and connected a new generation of entrepreneurs to one another and a deep sense of economic hope and opportunity.

Community Business Academy- Our 12 week intensive business training program needs volunteers to serve as classroom assistants to help our business trainers facilitate each session and run events such as the Business Simulation Game. Classes begin in the fall and the spring and are held in several locations in the Hudson and Essex Counties.

Business Acceleration Services- We run business seminars twice per month through our Business Acceleration Services covering topics such as "How to Build a Simple Website" and "How to Get Your Products Retail Ready." We need volunteers to help with set up, facilitation, and breakdown of these events.
