SCMTA has been a non-profit (501c3) organization registered with the State of New York and started under the National Council of Teacher's of Mathematics foir the past 40 or more years. Durnig that time we have done edcuational presentations for teachers, provided financial help for teaching programs not included in school budgets, resognized outstanding teachers, operated both senior and junior high school competitions, competed in a broader state and eastern regional student competition, conducted an annual symposium for grades 4 to 8 and much more.
Events:
see above descriptions.
Additional Information:
Our managerial/policy making and event organizing group, the Board of Directors, is in need of additional members. We are also always looking ofr presenters for teacher edcuation events. There are now four activities which we have had to abandon for lack of leaders to take ove rthe responsibilities. These include the Family Math Day, the elementary contest, the teacher conference and the supervisors luncheon. We also are open to newer activities to improve our programs as long as there is soemone willing to see the activity through.
