Our multi-faceted agency includes the following specifically-focused programs: Residential Programs We currently have three inpatient residential recovery locations providing 24-hour live-in treatment programs for addicted and emotionally-troubled adolescents ages 13 to 18. It's the only program of its kind in Santa Clara County. Outpatient Programs Step Up! and Insight are both no-cost programs provided to schools throughout the County offering intensive after-school group therapy, recovery education, and counseling to students who struggle with mental health issues and substance abuse. Prevention Programs We also have prevention programs to educate youth of the importance of staying away from drugs and how to resist peer pressure. Strengthening Families Program (SFP) offers a free 12-week course for families designed to teach skills in preventing substance abuse and other problem behaviors in youth while improving parent/child communication and relationships. Too Good for Drugs is a program for middle and high-school students that teaches adolescents the skills they need to stay drug-free. Shelters The Refuge is a home for children and their mothers whose lives have been torn apart by drug and alcohol addiction. At the Refuge, mothers learn parenting skills and reunify with their children while receiving the support and encouragement necessary in maintaining their sobriety. The Nest is a home for middle and high-school-aged girls who have survived sex-trafficking. The Nest is a safe place where these young girls can begin to work through their trauma with the assistance of professional counseling and academic and life-building skills to move forward to a bright healthy future. Counseling Services Advent's Counseling Center seeks to unify and strengthen troubled families and individuals by providing quality low-cost counseling services to the community. Our therapists are Christian men and women with the skills, education, and compassion to assist people through all of life's challenges.
