Join us as cyclists and volunteers come together to honor cancer survivors, raise awareness about reducing cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease.
Your participation allows the American Cancer Society to help people facing cancer today and find cures to end the disease tomorrow. Through sponsorship, and the fundraising efforts of our participants, we will finish the fight against cancer.
Additional Information:
The American Cancer Society's Bicycles Battling Cancer ride is seeking volunteers to assist with our event prior to and on Sunday, June 7, 2015. This event is only made possible by the dedicated volunteers who help setup and assist the nearly 300 cyclists on event day, so we truly appreciate anyone who can give their time in support of our life-saving mission.
The 2015 event will start and finish at the Hillside School in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and will give participants the opportunity to ride 30, 70, or 100 mile loops throughout central Massachusetts. Volunteers are needed prior to and during the event. A minimum shift of 2 hours is appreciated. Volunteers can offer their support in the following areas:
· Aid-Station support (handing out supplies, medical assistance, photography)
· Route Monitor (direct cyclists and provide enthusiastic encouragement)
· Shuttle Drivers; must be at least 25 years old (Drive the course, picking up riders who need assistance along the route. Provide rides to and from parking area)
· Start/Finish Setup/Cleanup (assist in preparing the Hillside School and/or cleanup following the event)
· Photography (take pictures at various locations to help commemorate the event)
· Registration/check in
Please contact Brittany Angel at Brittany.angel@cancer.org or 508.270.4641 for more information about the event. You can also find out more information about our event at bicyclesbattlingcancer.org, including detailed volunteer descriptions and volunteer registration forms. Together we can help people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against cancer!
