Program History:
The American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery Program is the organization's signature transportation assistance program, through which cancer patients get free rides to their treatment appointments when they can not get on there on their own. Volunteers who sign up to drive contribute a valuable service and create their own schedule, making this a very flexible role. Volunteers can be between 18-84 years old, must have a car and auto insurance, complete a training and go through a background check.
Additional Information:
Save a life. Volunteer with the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery Program! Donate your time and use of your car to drive cancer patients to their critical treatment appointments. You'll provide encouragement, support and feel great doing it!
There is an especially high need for bilingual, Spanish-speaking volunteers in the Southeast Florida area (Miami-Dade and Broward Counties). While we are looking for all volunteers, this opportunity might be just right for you if you have good command of both languages.
