Mission Statement:
To prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
We lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by diabetes. We fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes. We deliver services to hundreds of communities. We provide objective and credible information. We give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.
Program History:
We Step Out to do our part to Stop Diabetes® and take steps to improve our health! Participants are changing the future and making a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. You can, too!

Volunteer shifts start from 6:30am to 12:00pm
Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the Association's signature one-day, fundraising and awareness walk that takes place in more than 130 cities across the United States. Participants form teams and recruit their co-workers, friends and family members to walk and fundraise with them.Volunteer Opportunities:
-Set-up and tear down Volunteers
- Parking lot volunteers: Assist with Team Tailgaiting and Parking Lot Logistics
-Registration & Accounting Volunteers: Greet event attendees and help process event-day donations.
-T-shirt Volunteers: Help pass out T-shirts!
-Walk Route Volunteers: Cheer on the walkers!
-Food Volunteers: Man food tables and assist walkers with breakfast
