Mission Statement:
FMA provides outcome based financial, career, college planning and reality based math to high school teens to create social and economic change.
Philosophy/Belief Statement:
The education system is challenged. For high school students to achieve their potential and contribute to the knowledge economy of the 21st century, they must accept responsibility for their future. Real Life Financial Math provides students the information needed to create a plan and take action to achieve their goals. Volunteers bring knowledge and skills to mentor students in gaining an understanding of real life.
Program History:
Real Life Financial Math is a one year course. It will begin September 2017. RLFM started in 2006. 1200 Houston area high school students have attended the program. FMA seeks community leaders interested in engaging volunteers to support local high schools.
Events:
June 2016 - Texas Community Leader meeting in Houston to prepare for 2017 course.
