Foundation for Second Chances, Inc, a nonprofit organization, was founded in 2004 by a grassroots community activist, Melissa Wyatt. Determined to make a difference, Wyatt founded FFSC because she was tired of the stereotypes surrounding inner city youth, and she was appalled by the lack of support and resources that they were provided. Since opening its doors, FFSC has forged strong partnerships with the local business community, school districts and other local youth-serving organizations. FFSC has six components: AfterSchool, Tutoring, Mentoring, Leadership, Reading Literacy and Community Service.
