Mission Statement:
Habitat for Humanity of Teller County is part of a global, non-profit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Teller County is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

Program History:
Habitat for Humanity of Teller County was founded in 1999 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. To date, the affiliate has completed 27 homes, with our two most recent scheduled to be done by the end of September, 2015. In addition, Wednesday, September 16, is the groundbreaking ceremony for two new homes being constructed in Sherwood Forest, Divide.

We accept all volunteers! No experience necessary. If you have a particular interest or talent you'd like to share with us, we'd love to have your help.
Volunteer positions include
Construction Volunteers: Wednesday through Saturday, 8:30 - 4:30, whole or half days

Office Volunteers: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 - 4:30, 1-2 hours, flexible schedule
Event Volunteers: as needed, we may need extra help leading up to big events but not on a regular basis
