Mission Statement:
The Plant Exchange is a community organization that encourages resource sharing, reuse and recycling. Our annual free Plant Exchange event brings over 1000 community members together, and throughout the year, we host several events that support Oakland’s designation as one of the greenest cities in the country.
Events:
2nd Saturday Fundraiser Plant Sales, various other pop-up fundraiser sales, and the Annual Spring Plant Exchange (usually in March).
Additional Information:
We love our volunteers and are excited you are interested in assisting us. We have monthly events as well as special projects, and the annaul Spring Pland Exchange, that are 100% volunteer run.
Some of the tasks we typically need assistance with at our events are:
Set up event space
prune, re-pot and water plants
assist attendees as they arrive
run cashier table, and more!
We will provide a The Plant Exchange red apron and name tag. We suggest wearing comfortable clothes and shoes. We also suggest bringing a snack and water bottle.
