Senior Care Volunteer Network works with seniors of our community who live at home to assist them and their families in maintaining their independence, dignity and quality of life.
Whether it is with a ride to the doctor, help with some yard work, or a friendly visit, our volunteers provide services to seniors in need of assistance at no cost
Program History:
Since 1998, our not-for-profit program has served all seniors, age 60 and over, who live in McHenry County or Sun City Huntley
Additional Information:
Senior Care Volunteer Network, formerly known as Faith in Action, has volunteer positions available throughout McHenry County and the Sun City-Huntley community. Just an hour of your time can make a real difference in the life of a senior!
Senior Care Volunteer Network is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that utilizes volunteers to provide numerous services to seniors so they can maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life while remaining in their own home or the home of a loved one for as long and as safely as possible. We never charge for services.
As a volunteer, you can provide transportation to medical appointments and life-enriching destinations, friendly visits and phone calls, yard work, snow removal, minor home repairs and short-term respite care. While you must be 25 years-old to drive a senior, volunteers of all ages are welcome. Volunteers benefit from training, mileage reimbursement, the flexibility to accept the volunteer opportunity that fits their schedule, and the chance to give back to their community.
If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a dedicated volunteer with our program, please contact Sarah Schrempf, Volunteer Coordinator at 815-455-3120 ext. 223 or visit our website at www.scvnmchenrycounty.org.
